Rimbunan Hijau (PNG) Group is a privately owned group of companies with a diverse set of interests that encompass forestry, timber processing, palm oil, transport, media, retail and property development. Known locally as 'RH', it is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysia-based Rimbunan Hijau.
The group employs more than 12,500 people across its operations in both rural areas and urban centres.
RH is the market leader in forestry and timber processing in Papua New Guinea. It operates a number of concessions across PNG and has five downstream processing operations. It is one of Papua New Guinea's largest exporters outside of the minerals sector. RH's major export markets are China, Taiwan and South Korea.
The company's oil palm development is in East New Britain Province. The 31,000 ha oil palm development is expected to employ more than 6,500 people.
RH's key property development is Vision City Waigani. The US$400 million (1 billion Kina) investment incorporates a residential/hotel complex, a three-storey retail development and a 10-storey office complex. It is the largest shopping mega mall in the Pacific region
