RH makes a significant contribution to the PNG community.
RH's operations provide a significant social dividend for PNG's in a number of ways that include employment, skills and training, infrastructure, health and education.
EMPLOYMENT
RH employs approximately 12,500 people in Papua New Guinea. Many of these jobs are in rural areas where economic opportunities are otherwise scarce. Forestry is one of the few industries that operates in PNG's rural areas.
RH ensures that its staff have suitable training for their employment. RH has trained more than 700 staff over the past five years for its forestry operations.
HEALTH
RH is committed in providing health services, awareness and prevention campaign to include HIV/AIDS and COVID-19 Vaccination in many of the areas where RH operates where in health facilities are often absent or inadequate. Collaborative efforts had been done among Health partners to ensure quality Health services being delivered and promote Department of health program.
Some of the health programs conducted are HIV/AIDS program on awareness, Voluntary Confidential Counseling and HIV testing. This helped to fight the stigma and discrimination on those inflicted by HIV/AIDS. PTB screening, treatment and awareness to end TB.
