RH takes its obligations towards PNG's environment seriously.
All of RH's forestry operations operate legally and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

PNG's laws and regulations are considered by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) as generally excellent and go towards achieving sustainable forest management in Papua New Guinea.

To this end, RH has worked with the PNG Forest Industry Association and the ITTO on a pilot program for producing a timber legality and traceability verification (TLTV) program for forestry operations in the country.

PNG's forest laws and regulations cover a broad range of areas, from sustainable yield to water management. A full overview of the legality regime for PNG can be found here.

All of PNG's log exports are independently monitored by independent auditing firm SGS, which ensures that all timber is properly taxed and accounted for, thus
safeguarding the income of PNG’s communities and government.

PNG's agricultural developments also require full environmental impact assessments.
